How'd I Do?: Week 6 NFL Fanduel Edition.

Wah! I Miss You DeMarco.

Who would have thought that Romo and Peyton would combine for a measly 24.9 in Fanduel.com points after scoring a crapload against each other in Week 5? If you went with any of my optimized lineup for Week 6 you most certainly didn't forsee that outcome.

Add in the Cecil Shorts and DeMarco Murray (Jimmy Graham if you didn't listen to me) injuries and your Week 6 Fanduel.com plays probably ended with you in the middle of the pack.

The painful part is that Murray at least was on pace for a great game, which would have helped Romo and Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams and Dan Bailey who all helped sink my chances.

Can you believe that I almost went with Justin Blackmon, who cost $100 less who proved, in theory at least, that Shorts was a good play by stepping out and catching 14 balls for 190n yards.

OK, whine-fest is over.

I did call Jimmy Graham's bad day, if not a big ol' goose egg, and I am truly surprised that I seemed to be in the extreme minority there. The Pats always take the opponents best player away. Did you think they were gonna stop Colston? To add injury to insult Graham injured his leg. Watch twitter to see what his condition is.

Other Hits: Knowhson Moreno was huge. OMG the Kansas City Chiefs D is sick. Use them every week. Julius Thomas continues to be the Fanduel's second best TE.

Other Misses: Garret Graham has Houston's QBs tossing it. Nuff said. T. Willams, D. Bryant.

How'd I Do? : Week 5 NFL Fanduel Edition.

I Am Peyton - Buy Me.

Week 5 did not play out how I expected in a lot of ways. The Detroit/Green Bay game was not a score fest. Tom Brady's consecutive games with a TD pass was broken. Eli Manning evidently forgot who Victor Cruz was.

However if you took my advice on my Fanduel Standard League Optimized Lineup you probably ended the week with more money in your Fanduel.com account than you started with. You're welcome.

Here's how I fared in Week 5.

Broyles sucked it up, but he cost very little. Manning and Graham prove to be must starts.Jeffery was my big sleeper and came up huge. Nicks finally showed up. Janikowski proves to be an every week stable play. The Saints did okay for their cost. If you started this lineup you probably won a nice little chunk. Tell me how you did.

I bet huge on the GB/DET game and it cost me. You may have done okay with this lineup, but probably not great. This lineup exposes the dangers of going heavy on one game (or joy if you picked DEN/DAL.).

Week 4 NFL Fanduel Hits.

Mr. Smith Destroyed.

I was so huge on Torrey Smith this week that I started him in every Fanduel and DraftStreet league I was in. Sadly some of my Week 4 Misses dragged his amazing return to the endzone into a series of losses for me.

So how many other hits did I get in Week 4? Read on and find out.

Quarterback Hits

Tony Romo
He didn't reach the stars like I expected him to against the Chargers and he was vastly outplayed by opposing QB Philip Rivers, but Romo's 19.26 points were solid enough to earn him a spot in this column.
VERDICT: MODERATE HIT

Brian Hoyer also came through for his buy low owners. Cutler had an okay day.

Running Backs

Bilal Powell 
Powell followed up his stellar Week 3 with an average Week 4. He likely didn't push you over the top for a win, but he did earn his cost.
VERDICT: MODERATE HIT

Danny Woodhead 
Woodhead is the Mary Stewart Masterson (in Some Kind of Wonderful)of the NFL. He's the cool chick who is right under your nose, but you don't see how great she is until Adrian Peterson is a jerk to you in front of his friends Peyton and Calvin. Err.. Yeah Woodhead killed it. He'll do it again too.
VERDICT: HUGE HIT

Wide Receivers

Torrey Smith
Mr. Smith Came to Buffalo and just plain dominated. He got his first TD of the season and racked up 166 on just 5 catches. His deep threat ability showed up Sunday. It will do so again. Keep an eye on the Plays of the Week
VERDICT: HUGE HIT

Pierre Garcon
He didn't put up the gaudy numbers one had hoped, but his 14.9 points provided solid value in Washington's first win of the year. Let's hope the good things continue as RGIII gets his field legs back under him.
VERDICT: HIT

Tight Ends

It is starting to look like Jimmy Graham may be worth the big bucks each and every week, but if you has to go TE on the cheap, how'd my Plays of the Week do?

Charles Clay
Mr. Clay has grown into a steady red zone target for Tannehill's Dolphins. The touchdowns may not happen every week, but the chances should.
VERDICT: BIG HIT

Colby Fleener
When Luck performs well, Fleener seems to get the love. He's a solid cheap TE option week after week.
VERDICT: BIG HIT

Heath Miller
Miller may be the only Steeler worth starting outside Antonio Brown and maybe Le'Veon Bell.
VERDICT: HIT

Kickers

Adam Vinatieri
Reminded me of the Vinatieri of the old New England days.
VERDICT: HUGE HIT

Shaun Suisham
A nice stat line from a cheap kicker helped many win this week.
VERDICT: HIT

Matt Prater
Another 7 extra point day was only marred by the lone field goal. Prater lovers better hope sombody manages to slow down Peyton.
VERDICT: HIT

Defense

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs outscored many high price running back and wide outs. Further proof that Defenses can win the day.
VERDICT: HUGE HIT.

Week 4 NFL Fanduel Misses.

Dalton You Suck.

We're going to call Week 4 The Injury Week. Lotsa players went out early with injuries and thereby killed their owners in weekly leagues.

Sadly, a lot of those injured were part of my Plays of the Week. But what do I do with regards to the weekly Misses column. Is it really my fault that Achilles ruptured and ankles were bent or knees twisted? Of course not, but the result was the same so I'm going to man up and take the hit.

So without further blathering and excuse making here are the Week 4 Misses.


Quarterback Misses

 Andy Dalton
Dalton sucked it up against a Browns team that showed the world that they have not thrown in the towel. His measly 6.54 points in Fanduel were pathetic. Until further notice Dalton is not going to see the light of day in my weekly leagues.
VERDICT: HUGE MISS

Terrele Pryor
Pryor didn't play and if you played him without checking his concussion status (as I told you here) then that is on you.
VERDICT: PUSH

Running Back Misses

Darren McFadden
Okay he went out in the first quarter with a crap-tastic 29 yards. Guess the injury bug is back.
VERDICT: HUGE MISS

Bernard Pierce
The Ravens evidently do not like running the ball. The entire TEAM ran for 24 yards on nine carries. WTF is that??? It is time to admit that Baltimore is not a mid level much less upper tier team.
VERDICT: HUGE MISS

Wide Receiver Misses

NONE
Torrey Smith killed it and Pierre Thomas caught a TD. Gordon mildly underperformed, but was not a miss. Even the solid recommendations Eric Decker, Antonio Brown and Julian Edelman did well.

Tight End Misses

NONE
Miller, Fleener and Clay all performed well with only Miller not catching a TD.

Kicker Misses

NONE
Even Solid Option Gould delivered for his owners.

Defense Misses

Pittsburgh Steelers
Yeah they let AP run all over them and couldn't stop anyone else in a loss either.
VERDICT: MISS

Verdict Explanations:

• Huge Miss: Far underplayed their cost. Killed your week.
• Big Miss: Underplayed their cost. Cracked the Top 20 if you were lucky.
• Miss: Slightly worse than expected. May have cracked the Top 10, but probably not.
• Moderate Miss: Didn't kill your week, but didn't win it either.

NFL Week Two Fanduel Recap. How'd I Do?

If you started Vick you probably won.

Here at Daily Fantasy Leagues we like to put our money where our mouth is. Literally in this case. We don't just write about daily fantasy leagues like Fanduel, Draftstreet and Draftkings, we play in them.

This site started because we were doing the research for our own daily and weekly plays and said, what the heck lets share it and see if anybody reads it. So far about 100 of you have. Thanks and keep reading.

Week 2 NFL Fanduel Hits.

You had Jackson. You Won.

So Week 2 of the NFL season is in the books and now it is time to see how I fared with my Weekly Picks for Week 2.

Verdict Explanations:

• Huge Hit: Far outplayed their cost. Tops at their position this week.
• Big Hit: Outplayed their cost. Probably a Top 5 play.
• Hit: Slightly better than expected. Top 10.
• Moderate Hit: Worth the investment.

Quarterback Hits

Michael Vick
Vick cost $8,100 and got 33.2 points. That is only 1.68 points less than Aaron Rodgers who cost $9,400 and 13.4 points better than Peyton Manning whose hefty $9,800 price may have sunk some teams this week.
Verdict: BIG HIT.

Sam Bradford
Bradford proved to be a sneaky mid price pick for... nobody apparently. I searched several contest from last week and couldn't find anyone (including us, we started Vick and Pryor) who used Bradford. Too bad since he got 26.58 points for those who spent the reasonable $7,000 on him. Bradford has already gone up this week to $7,300. Against Dallas, I may just be starting him.
Verdict: BIG HIT.

Running Back Hits

LeSean McCoy
McCoy cost a hefty $8,600 and earned his owners a respectable 19.2 points. Solid numbers and if you won $$ this week on Fanduel, you likely had McCoy in your lineup.
Verdict: HIT.

Wide Receivers Hits

DeSean Jackson
For some crazy ass reason Jackson only cost $5,700 last week, but his 29.8 points in week 2 bested every other WR save Julio Jones. This guy is ridiculously undervalued. I suspect he'll once again be in my Weekly Plays for Week 3.
Verdict: HUGE HIT.

Julian Edelman
His $6,400 price is a low cost for a Tom Brady #1 receiver and in Week 2 he scored his owners a more than respectable 14.7 points. New England may struggle on offense and until the other receivers stop dropping the ball, Brady will toss the ball his way.
Verdict: MODERATE HIT.

Victor Cruz
Sure he cost $7,300 and he didn't grab a TD catch, but he did have 8 catches for 118 yards for a nice 15.8 points. He'll be the main guy on a team that will need to throw the ball a lot.
Verdict: MODERATE HIT.

Tight End Hits

Greg Olsen
Olsen cost $6,100 and earned 19.9 points. Solid production for Olsen who looks like Carolina's only consistent pass catcher. I think I may like this guy again and soon.
Verdict: BIG HIT.

Kicker Hits

Sebastian Janikowski
He cost $5,000 and delivered 4 field goals and 1 extra point.
Verdict: BIG HIT.

Steven Hauschka
 He cost $5,100 and had 2 field goals and 3 extra points.
Verdict: HIT.

Mason Crosby  
He cost $5,000 and made 1 field goal and 5 extra points. Crosby will get lots of extra points so while he may not win you your league, he won't kill you (like Sir Misses-a-Lot Randy Bullock) either.
Verdict: MODERATE HIT.

Defense Hits

Baltimore Ravens
This was a matchup hit. At $5,000 they allowed the Browns to score only 6 points. Next up the Texans. I'll be sitting them.
Verdict: HIT

Oakland Raiders
Another matchup hit as the lowly Jags were held to 9 points.
Verdict: MODERATE HIT.

Week 2 NFL Fanduel Misses.

Ridley sucked it up.

So Week 2 is done. There was some ugly games (Pats/Jets), some thrillers (Bills/Panthers and Bears/Vikings) and a few blowouts (Broncos/Giants and  Packers/Skins).

But what we really care about here at Daily Fantasy Leagues is Hits and Misses. Thankfully I had a lot more hits this week than misses. See my Hits column here. Unfortunately even I'm not perfect so here are my Fanduel Misses for Week 2 of the NFL season.

 Verdict Explanations:

• Huge Miss: Far underplayed their cost. Killed your week.
• Big Miss: Underplayed their cost. Cracked the Top 20 if you were lucky.
• Miss: Slightly worse than expected. May have cracked the Top 10, but probably not.

Terrele Pryor
Pryor sunk back to Earth in week 2. He cost $6,500, but gave about $5,000 worth of value. His 10.04 points weren't horrible, but if you started Pryor you likely didn't win the week.
Verdict: MISS.

Running Back Misses

Stevan Ridley
Ridley's bell cow back status is in major jeopardy after his Week 2 crap-fest. He cost $6,800 and got 4 cruddy points. Ugly game. Ugly stat line. Ugly future?
Verdict: HUGE MISS.

Darren Sproles
Sproles cost $6,700 and got 9.2 points. Like Pryot he didn't kill your week, but he didn't help much either. Fanduel's .5 PPR scoring system devalues Sproles somewhat.
Verdict: MISS.

Wide Receiver Misses

NONE
However the Other Solid Recommendations of Boldin and Brown didn't pan out.

Tight End Misses

Jared Cook
So much for being a machine all year. If you started him his measly 1.5 points cost you $6,300. Lesson: TE consistency is tough. You may wanna spend your $$ on them.
Verdict: HUGE MISS

Zach Miller
He cost $4,800 and gave you 3.7 points. Guess he was priced right after all. Hope you spent your savings wisely.
Verdict: MODERATE MISS

Kicker Misses

NONE
Even Solid Option Zuerlein delivered pretty well.

Defense Misses

NONE
Even the Bills did OK. Probably won't recommend them again though.
