Defenses for NFL Week 3 - Fanduel.

Sherman will make the Jags cry.

In the real fantasy world (huh?) Defenses are like kickers. Interchangeable and selected last. But int he fantasy wonderland of Fanduel Defenses are potent forces that can win you the week or doom you to the cellar.
The question is how do you pick the right one? The philosophy here is the opposite of kickers. It is all based on matchups. If a team is playing a crap ass offensive team then that is a defense you want to target. So the basics of finding value in weekly Fanduel leagues is as follows. Find the crappiest offensive team that is facing a reasonably decent defense that costs $5,200 or less. Done.

Fanduel Plays of the Week: Defenses

Seattle Seahawks - $5,700
Yup, this breaks my rules on price, but the Jags are so bad and the Seahawks are so good on D that this could be a monster day. Buy high and go a bit lower on RB or WR.

The Jags may be sent to the Canadian Football League after this debacle.

Projections: 5 sacks, 1 defensive TD, 2 INT, 2 fumble and they will hold the Jags to no more than 3 points.

New Orleans Saints - $5,000
Last year these guys were the pits. Like real , real bad. Enter Rob Ryan and they have almost overnight become a middle of the road D. They have a nice matchup against the Arizona Cardinals

Projections: 2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 kick return TD, 1 fumble and they will hold the Cards to under 21 points.

Buffalo Bills - $5,000
The Bills spent a lot of money over the last few years on defense. Last week they gave quite a few yards to Carolina, but hey face the Jets who are arguably worse than they are on offense.

I see this game as a low scoring dull-fest where both teams could be good defensive plays.

Projections: 2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 fumble, hold NY to 14  points or less.

Other Solid Options: I rarely spend this money but both the Broncos and the Patriots at $5,400 could end up being top defenses come Tuesday morning. I also like he Jets at $5,000.
